So, I went around the boat completing a rig inspection and when I made it to the bow, I found three little fish only 5 cm in length dead on the bow. I have no idea when a wave washed them up but two were jammed under my spinnaker polls and had started to rot……yuck. Being Vegan I have……………..

Last night I managed to get so much sleep that I couldn't sleep anymore so I was up at and at it by 7am and ready to take on the world……or the Southern Ocean as the case may be. The winds held at 18-20 knots from the North to North West for the night allowing me to sail with the Full Mainsail and the small jib the J2. We were able to hold a really high average boat speed of around 9 knots…………..

Well as you can likely imagine it has been a complete whirlwind over the last 24 hours and mother nature and the wind gods were not making it an easy finish for me. On the last night of the journey I was still sailing close hauled in an epic storm facing 5 metre waves and lots and lots of wind. In the end the conditions got so bad that I decided it was safer to heave too through the peak of the storm.
