OMG, I have just had the most intense and exciting 48 hours and there is so much to share with you all. Day 91 was going to be my last full day at sea, and I still had over 150 nm left to sail in the morning……..

I was so very excited about the possibility of finishing the record tomorrow afternoon however the weather conditions last night and tonight have blasted that idea right out of the water. Last night there was…………

I honestly can’t believe that I have now spent 90 days at sea solo and seen only two ships... It sometimes feels like I have been at sea for years and other days it feels like I only just began with this adventure. This is the longest…….

I think the fact that in a few short days I will be arriving on dry land again has left me restless while I try to sleep. I went to bed by 3am but I spent until 8am tossing and turning and unable to fall asleep. The longer I laid there the harder sleep became……

I now have less than 500 nm to sail as the crow flies but with the winds being from the North a lot of that time I will end up sailing a much larger distance. Thankfully, the eta is still sometime between the 25-26th of May. I think I will end up working for every mile gained on this run home……..

I had logged when I left Australia and entered into the official Antarctica Cup Ocean Racetrack of 45 south to 60 south my position of entry. If you remember I sailed west a little at the beginning to try to give myself a better angle on the return. It is important to me that I cross all my tracks below 45 South however…..

It does look like those weather gods are testing me again, because it looks like some varied conditions leading up to Albany. Hopefully we get a good run of it and not stuck in 30 knot northerly winds.……

It’s a lot to take in. The more excited I get the more worried I get, that something will snatch this all away again, like my dismasting…..

Last night was a beautiful night with a full moon shining lots of light around. The sky was partially covered with clouds and there was only a small amount of swell around. The winds were blowing in at a stable 20 knots for most of the night…..

Well its getting real and exciting out here as I just changed over to my second last time zone, only one more hour to go before reaching Albany time, so that to me is a real marker of time passing. Last night the winds remained light and were blowing……..
